This Week In Crackton (AKA Toronto)

We kick off this week in international headlines as fresh new Pope Francis rocked the religious world by coming down from his gilded palace on high to inform the unwashed masses that being an atheist is A-OK.  Will this be sufficient cause to slay Godwin's Law once and for all?  It remains to be seen.  What can be safely assumed is that if you are an atheist who does "good", "good" can or must not include:
-  having or providing abortions
-  having premarital sex
-  having protected sex
-  having the gayness

But, you know, other than that, thumbs up!  Swing open those pearly gates and come on in, Atheists of Great Works!

And speaking of sin, let's turn our attention now to Italy, where the ongoing sex trial of disgraced premier Silvio Berlusconi took a turn for the (even more) crazy as key witness Karima el Mahroug (alias Ruby) recanted her stories of wild sex parties and "bunga bunga" as "nonsense".

WHAT?!  BUNGA BUNGA, DISMISSED AS MERE NONSENSE?!  This is an outrage!  No one callously tosses around Bunga Bunga!  Bunga Bunga...is serious...um...what the hell is Bunga Bunga anyway?

To the wiki mobile!

Many will be tempted to click the link to the erotic South Korean arcade game.  All will regret it.

Hmmm...let's see here...Resurgence in Italy...mumble mumble...ah, here we go:  "it was allegedly taught to Silvio Berlusconi by Muammer Al-Gaddafi".  As reputable a source of high-class taste as ever there was.  So respect the Bunga-Bunga!
No no, this a Bongo and some Bongos.  But I like your spirit.

In politics, Stephen Harper was running damage control in his speech to caucus, following closely on the heels of the recent senate personal expense scandal.  Harper instructed those members present to "leave this room" if they found themselves wanting to abuse their public service for personal gain.  And the story may have ended there, with big daddy Harper chiding the kids, were it not for the wonderful intervention of recently elected Calgary Centre MP Joan Crockett's twitter remarks.  Question for Ms. Crockett:  if resignation truly is the height of morality, how then would you characterize the recent firing of Chief of Staff Mark Towhey?  Just idly curious, you know.
